What It Does
I screenshot a lot of websites, and the Inspiration Board is where they all go. It titles each one by site and page and reads its style, palette, layout and tags from the image. Pick one reference or several, and it writes a design brief I can paste into a project. I designed its UX and UI.
How It Reads an Image
- Style, color, layout and tags come from plain PHP and the GD image library, with no network call.
- An AI model writes each title from the logo at the top of the screenshot.
- The design brief is built from those fields, ready to paste into a project.
- Several references can combine into one brief.
- Search, tags and sort live in the URL, so I can share a filtered view.
It’s live on a Harker server, behind a password, for my own use.
Analysis
The board classifies each screenshot’s design style with a confidence level, measures its palette and contrast, and suggests what to carry forward and what to leave behind.
Build
Instead of an in-house developer, I directed AI coding agents through the build in phases and checked their work before it went live. They built it in plain PHP, MySQL and JavaScript, with Tailwind for the styles. When I tested it with real screenshots in a browser, I caught three upload failures their automated tests had missed.
Security
Since it sits on a school server, I wanted it locked down. Every upload gets re-saved as a fresh image before it’s stored, and the board won’t fetch a link that points inside the school’s network.
